weekends are just too short

i wish the weekend was longer.
there's just never enough time, but i did have a great one non-the-less.

first, char and i went to the
on saturday

it was a great time, and despite the weather, hanging out in brooklyn was a nice fresh of breathe air from the hustle and bustle of downtown manhattan.

i should've taken photos of their set up since the space was so cute,
but of course, i forgot
(OF COURSE! ;T)

Anyhow, one of the freebees was this gift tag that i love! it's so cute and so appropriate for the event.

then as we explored i found this adorable guy!
bahhh! sheep! so cute, and SO SO SO SOFT! what a fun pillow:
by windows of agate

there was also another vendor, my zoetrope,
(obviously, i am obsessed with the name....;P)
and i LOVED her illustrations and the quality of her items.
really fun and bright!

she even had temporary tattoos with her illustrations on them!!!
so fun!

last, but not least,
was the vendor that i bought something from.
i know, i know, it's not the time to be spending any money-
but i really have been looking for a flamingo light switch, and I FINALLY FOUND ONE!
i'm so happy with my little purchase!!!
i bought it from lovely day designs

here it is!

it's kitschy in my favorite way
tropical style!
:)
i think i'll design some light switch covers now for twinko.
heeheehee
*thumbs up!*
-----
sunday was super productive.
karen and i did what we could to manage all the business things for twinko
(basically, it's the stuff we don't like doing)

then after a wonderful dinner with my most amazing friends,
i made a nini stuffed pillow
(100% organic + screened with water based inks)

here she is chillaxin' with the rest of the gang!
i love her wave :)

our next pillow will be a bit of a challenge--
kory the elephant!
lets just hope we can get her the right size!
;)

despite the fact that the weekend went by so fast,
i'm a happy camper.
got a lot done and had a blast doing it!
i'm lucky to have the most awesome people around me all the time.
<3 <3 <3

p.s. went to eat here for the millionth time for sunday night dinner-
it was amazing.
if you live in the city, and i haven't brought you there yet, you should def go!!!
get number "123" :)

happy monday everyone!

i'm just sayin'...
i'm so proud to say that twinko has decorative pillows now!!!

we're working on the other characters, but here is me making the proto for toby the owl and wallie the octopus.
(*on this previous post you can see the little guys being screen printed*)

Rk Design

another thing i found at Rk Design:

a gynormous calendar!!!
(spelling?)

now, for someone like me, this is the way to go because:
1. i have horrible vision
2. i can only remember things when i write it down, so i still use a paper calendar
3. i love seeing the whole year at once- to see where i've been, how far i've come, etc...

i may have to make me one of these...
i should call the printer soon ;)

LAUNCH: BRAND NEW WEBSITE!

and it's here!!!!
i literally JUST got the email :D

check it out!

paper is my favorite

seriously.
what a week, and it's only half way through!

so i got home too late from work to do what i wanted to do with that giant screen print of toby and wallie
(from my last post)
so that will have to wait till tomorrow.
but WOW. karen sent me the cutest paper craft idea today!

A FREAKIN' PAPER TOWN!
<3 <3 <3
they're so lovely, all miniature and stuff.
i can't help myself, here's the pics:

these are sold and designed by rkdesign

i love them! i can see it now..
twinkoland... in real life paper sculptures!
^____^

so speaking of paper products-
stationary and such will be coming soon.

if you go to the twinko website now
you'll find that we have some prints available for sale.

but that's just the beginning of something karen and i have been wanting to do forever!
i think we both grew up with awesome stationary..
from hello kitty to morning glory-
hand written letters were the way to go (once upon a time of course)

hopefully once we get the "technology" in our grips we can do some animated ecards.
i know, sounds kind of crazy since there's a lot more that goes into those kinds of things...
but a little taste is about to come soon!
yes, you may not believe it..
but it is.
O___O
be excited!
i sure am!
:D

two jobs, too little time...

working on twinko and having a full time job = sleepiness to the millionth power.

not that we're the only ones in the world that feel this way,
but sometimes you have to say it out loud...
"karen and i really really work our asses off..."
*(not that you dont of course :))*
but damn... ;)

we've been going on so little sleep lately.
i came home from screen printing last night with ink all over me.
usually we're not so messy, but last night we left screen printing to the end and we just got so sleepy, that keeping the ink off of ourselves was just not happening.

we can't wait for the day where 15 hour days get trimmed down a little.
work at the office, then non-stop twinko is just a bit painful.

i have to say though the boost comes when
someone from your past (lets just say 10 years ago)
messages you and says that he thinks your stuff would look great in his friend's store!
let me tell you- when that connection is made,
and that support is there,
nothing motivates me more.
it truly made my hard day at work a distant memory as i headed over to karen's to work on our press kit. even if it turns out to be nothing, the fact that there are people around you, looking out for you like that, it's just such a great feeling!!!
(*thank you a million times over j.w.*)
:)

here's some pics from the night:

the magical papers inside! each page is an activity page (even the cover!)
each page is also a nod to each character with a paper craft to match.
it's pretty amazing *hair toss* ;P
Char gave us the inspiration, and we thought of the "newspaper-look"
:)

we're very proud.
hand silk screened/ hand made suitcase box
filled with twinko candy, activity book supplies, and activity book
(supplies include 2 twinko pencils!)
and of course, a cd with photos of our products and the final paper craft items you can create with the activity book!

getting a bit closer...

AND CLOSER! ;D

then the screen printing begins! this is one of our new ones-
it's pretty big compared to what we're used to doing..
i can't tell you what it's for yet...
maybe tomorrow.. :)

wallie! isn't he the cutest?!!
especially in that ruby red color.
he's a kung fu master you know! :)

here's for scale.
there's rice ball! one of twinko's little pup helpers!

wallie and toby- oversized and lookin' sharp!
one of our new bibs:
the "1-2-3 cheese" design has always been on tees,
but now you can have it as a bib!
perfect for any future photographer!

times get a bit tough..
and there are def days that are better than others...
but i'm happy that i get to work on something i love so much every day.
it's an amazing goal and dream to work towards,
and i have a feeling, even if karen and i get to quit our day jobs,
we'll still be setting bigger and bigger goals for ourselves and twinko.
it's just not fun without a challenge!

we're very proud to be apart of this creative and positive experience.
<3 <3 <3
thanks for all your support everyone!

*fingers crossed that our dreams will come true!*

SAY HELLO!
to our future!
cheers- happy wednesday everyone!!!
