what a cute box

at NSS there were a bunch of buyers that LOVED our packaging.
it was a great moment for us because we spent about a year trying to figure out what we were going to do. we already had the product, but we wanted to elevate it and make more "gift appropriate" by adding a special box.

finally, we landed on what you see today.

but.
did you know that we actually cut and put together
every single box?

haha, it is true!
soon, this may not be true since as a company gets busier and grows, things like this get hard to do.
but hopefully every once and a while we'll do a few here and there.

...trust me, doing hundreds of these is not fun! haha. no matter how in love you are with it.

here's some pics!

tools

cutting out the template.
i think we'll be getting it dye cut soon after this experience!
locally of course ;)

assembly time

but gotta score all the edges to get there!

final!
this guy gets a size sticker and a sticker on top showing you what your tee looks like.

now seriously,
that's a freakin' cute box!

;)

happy tuesday morning everyone!

factory girls

ok, not so much a.w.'s factory girls
but def felt like we were working in a factory last night.

we have a lot of production to do,
and since we hand silk screen so much of our stuff ourselves,
it takes a lot of time.

here's JUST THE BEGINNING of our memorial day weekend of production:

i still have to sew the edges of all the burp cloths!

t-shirt boxes.
it's never ending!
wish us luck!

happy friday everyone!!!

woot woot!

i wanna go somewhere!... and take this plane!!!!

i need a pick me up

i've been so overwhelmed
at work, after the show, LIFE!
it's just so insane everywhere.
i needed a little pick me up to get me through the day,

here's what i found :)

$$$

i want to make a twinko version :)

ooo.. i want one of these...

if i had a backyard..
or a really huge apt..;)

more handmade hammocks found here!

if i had a little break diy

when i was in middle school,
my favorite television channel was...
hgtv.
haha, no joke! my mom totally remembers my obsession with creating/crafting/building/sewing even back then!

i still crave to do little projects outside of twinko and fashion... it's just fun sometimes!

i guess that's why the diy section of pinterest is something i look at every day.

here are some cute things i found today

the smallest plants and planters EVAR! i really need new plants to replace my dying/dead ones on my windowsill.. maybe i can cut a few succulents to make these little guys.

ok, this guy requires some heavy machinery. but i can imagine doing this in other ways.... i really REALLY need something like this. my desk is always covered with business cards, post cards, bills, bills, and bills haha.

ohhh... martha!!! of course, just in time for father's day. what a cute and easy way to incorporate origami into a beautiful card.
i'm a sucker for a good card.. especially if...

there's paper and chevrons involved! beautiful!

what a great handmade card!

this needs no explanation <3 <3 <3

i can't seem to find where this guy is from- pinterest poster didn't specify- but wow. i love this. i have SO many old negatives i for some reason can't part with. this would be a nice way to use them. i should find the ones with my family. <3 :)

if i had some time i'd love to execute some of these things.
maybe next month ;)

if you didn't know, i have no time to do it this month because...

TWINKO HAD A GREAT AND FANTABULOUS SHOW!

super success!!!
i can't say too much about everything, but lets just say things are looking up!
but now it's time to fulfill and process all the orders..... O_O
it's a daunting process to create everything in a short period of time..
it gives you anxiety like none-other.
but i'm so happy.
:)

even though we can barely handle the amount of orders we got,
i still would've been insanely happy with more.
working on twinko is so hard. and it can be really stressful- mainly b/c we have invested so much of ourselves into it, but at the end of the day
I LOVE IT!
<3
and when we accomplish something, it feels like A MILLION BUCKS!
<3
what a crazy crazy month...
cheers to MANY MORE CRAZY months ahead!
<3

go twinko!

happy WEDNESDAY everyone!

National Stationary Show + Twinko

day 1 at NSS:

our wall of onesies + tees!

they all didn't make it, but close!

mama and papa onesies

it's PARTY TIME!

i think karen and i felt all these emotions in a span of 3 hours haha

tote bags + astroturf

packaging <3

giveaway pins!

it's so satisfying hearing all the positive feedback--
it really motivates you to keep pushing forward.

after setting up the day before, karen and i both had lots of anxiety.
i think it just comes with doing these shows because of all the investment.
after our first order, all of that disappeared.
of course it's easy to say this now that the first day is over, but whatever happens, happens.
we're just happy we get the opportunity to do this.
:)

afterwards, we both had to do some last minute things to prep for the upcoming weeks,
and of course the rest of the show.
as i walked through soho to sunrise mart for some giveaway candy,
the sun was setting and i had one of those moments
(i love when this happens)
where i realize how amazing new york city is-
how beautiful it looks,
and how eternally grateful i am for the struggles it presents me, but also the strength and opportunities it gives me to overcome the craziness + follow my dreams.
through it's sharp edges, hard concrete, and brick walls lies a beautiful sky.
(poetic ey? haha, ok super cheeze, but whatever!)

soho-- walking home

afterwards i decided to eat on my rooftop.
i sometimes get so caught up in working and life, that i forget i have this.
i mean, that's just awesome!!!
it was a really beautiful sunday evening.

japanese veggie tempura and curry <3

what a view

it was great to reflect for a minute before i started to do more stuff for today.

even though i think karen and i are both scrambling to get things in order for these next few days and for these new orders, i don't think we would want to do anything else.
the stress and anxiety can get crazy, but the rewarding feeling you get is just unbelievable.

i just wish this was my everyday full time job.
universe, i hope you're listening :]

as mama lim says, one day at a time.

WISH US LUCK!

happy MONDAY everyone!
